Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a receipt and an invoice?

An invoice asks for payment that is still to come. A receipt confirms that payment was received. Many small shops give one document at the counter; if the customer pays later, send an invoice first and a receipt when they pay.

What should a receipt include?

Your business name and contact, a receipt number, the date, what was sold with quantities and prices, the total, how it was paid, and any tax. Rules for extra details (tax numbers, for example) differ by country.

Is a receipt from this tool a legal or tax-compliant receipt?

It is a simple record for you and your customer. Some countries require registered receipt machines, numbered receipt books or e-invoicing for certain businesses. Check with your local tax office or accountant before using it as your official tax document.

Can I add discount and tax?

Yes. Both are optional percentages. Tax is calculated after the discount.

Can I use my own currency?

Yes. Pick one from the list or leave the currency symbol out.

Can I send the receipt on WhatsApp?

Yes. On a phone, "Share on WhatsApp" opens your share sheet with a short message. To send the full receipt, use Print / Save as PDF and attach the file.

Is my data stored?

No. The receipt exists only on your screen until you print or save it. We do not receive it. Close the page and it is gone, so save a copy if you need one.

How can I keep a record of all my receipts?

Save each PDF, or use the free Daily Sales Record app, which records every sale with its customer and product and builds your daily, weekly and monthly reports.
